Since Windows 10 1809, the Microsoft '.NET' framework is no longer preinstalled. If you upgrade from an earlier verison of Windows 10, your .NET instalation will be migrated, but if you start from scratch with Windows 10 1809 (or later), you will run into problems with the Industrial HiVision OPD DA server.
The reason for this issues is in most cases, that the currently used version of the OPC Core Components needed for the OPC DA server to work, cannot be installed without a .NET 2.0 framework present. The OPC Core Components installation called during the Industrial HiVision setup fails without an eror message displayed to the user.
There is a workaround to fix this issue:
- Download and install .NET 3.5 (which contains .NET 2.0)
- Restart the installation of the OPC Core Components manually, you can find the installer in the folder 'OEM-Setups' located in the installation directory of Industrial HiVsion.
This issue will be fixed by replacing the OPC Core Components version with a later one, which does not need the .NET framework to be preinstalled in the following Industrial HiVision versions:
- 07.1.04 (and later)
- 08.0.01 (and later)
For all previous versions you will either need to install the Microsoft '.NET' framework or perform an update to a later version of Industrial HiVision.
