In Europe the U-NII 3 band is usually reserved for special applications. The certification via the SRD (Short Range Device) classification allows to use these channels though even with WLAN devices. The limitation is a reduced output power, but this is often not a hindrance, especially in high density WLAN scenarios like a factory. One benefit of these channels is, that they do not require radar detection (DFS), which otherwise often results in interruptions, especially on the factory floor. This guide shows how to quickly configure BAT devices to operate on these channels in Europe.
