Why do I have en error message in the Configuration Check Dialog when I connect 2 routers via routed ports ?

Some of you may have noticed sometimes the error message ""A connected device is not reachable by a ICMP echo"" when you connect 2 routers with routed ports.

Actually this problem occurs if the router has a management address configured and LLDP enabled on the port.

Indeed, if the router has a management IP address then this address is added in the LLDP TLV ""mgmt-addr"" additionnally to the routed port address

The router receiving the LLDP packets evaluates the TLV and determine that one of the management address used in the tlv ""mgmt-addr"" doesn't match with the routed port address. It generates the following error in the Configuration Check dialog : ""A connected device is not reachable by a ICMP echo"" (in spite of no ICMP is sent)

To fix it you can either not configure any management address or type this command at the port level (on the relevant ports) : ""lldp tlv mgmt-addr off""

A third solution consists in ignoring the Configuration Check Dialog.
