There was an issue found in HiOS. If a device is updated from a HiOS version based on VxWorks (< 09.1.00) to a HiOS version based on LINUX (>= 09.1.00), in seldom cases the flash is erased completely, including all boot-parameters. In this case the device is not able to boot again and must be sent back to factory.

This issue occurs only while updating. If the update was successfully completed, the issue will not occur at a later time and the device can be normally used.

Affected devices:

Following HiOS devices are affected: RSP, RSPE, Octopus II.

Actions:

·Firmware HiOS 09.1.00 and HiOS 09.2.00 was completely removed from download portal for the relevant devices.

·R&D is currently analyzing the issue and will provide a fix of this issue asap.

Workaround:

As a workaround we recommend to not update relevant switches in version < HiOS 09.1.00
